At The Grown-Up School, we believe that quality education should be accessible to all.
That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our Free Workshops Program, designed to empower schools and educators in providing enriching experiences for their students without any financial burden.
How it works 🛠️
1. Book your workshops 📆
Using our main booking system, book your requested workshop dates under the “Free Workshop Request” option.
This will reserve those workshop dates for your school, and no other school will be able to book those time slots.
Please aim to request workshops as far in advance as possible, to increase the likelihood of us securing funding for your workshop.
Your booking will be marked as “pending” until we find funding for your workshop.
2. Behind-the-scenes matchmaking 🔗
We understand that every school deserves a chance to benefit from our workshops.
So, we advertise your pending booking to local businesses via the Ticket Tailor platform.
3. Funding made easy 💷
We approach businesses, keeping your school’s identity confidential until we’ve found a good funding match. Once a business decides to fund your workshop, we’ll notify you.
Until we’ve found a match, we will only share your school’s general location with businesses e.g. Cardiff, and we may share details of what year group or content you have requested for your workshops.
Businesses can pay for the workshops instantly via Ticket Tailor.
4. Confirmation of support ✅
You’ll receive a confirmation email, letting you know that your workshop has been successfully funded. It’s a win-win – your students get valuable experiences, and local businesses contribute to education.
5. Business volunteers 🙋♀️
To further enhance your workshops, businesses may select employees to volunteer during the sessions.
Whilst these volunteers aren’t DBS checked, they’ll always be accompanied by a certified facilitator from The Grown-Up School with an enhanced DBS check.
Our volunteers will receive a briefing, covering essential guidelines like safeguarding and the importance of respecting students’ privacy (no photography allowed).

6. Volunteer Q&As 🎤
Each workshop will kick off with a short Q&A session, allowing students to learn from business volunteers about their careers and experiences. It’s a chance for students to connect real-world knowledge with classroom learning.
7. If we can’t find funding 💳
If, 3 weeks before the workshop date, we haven’t secured funding, we’ll regretfully have to cancel the workshop, but rest assured, we’ll do our best to find support for your future bookings.
